This is a week of opportunity, though it may be slow to build momentum, and some of the gifts will come in strange packages. The planets left us emotionally charged but with swampy thinking and discouraging events over the last five weeks. But Mercury is now direct, the swampy aspects are dissipating, and our direction forward becomes clearer. If it’s not the direction we’d like, whether in politics, health, or personal choices, we now have more tools to plan the road ahead.
The Spring renewal whispers to us this week. The only major aspects between the planets this week are supportive aspects, conjunctions and sextiles, Mars sextile Neptune, the Sun sextiles Pluto and Saturn, so we can feel more green lights, less blockades, and notice more possibilities. This week offers us a chance to catch our breath and catch up between last week’s wild and crazy aspects, and next week’s eventful Mars, Jupiter, Pluto conjunction. It doesn’t mean that the problems of gone away, but that we can work on what’s already on our plate and caretake our life and relationships and get ready for the next round.
Now that doesn’t mean we suddenly become the sharpest tack in the box, our thinking is still fuzzy as Mercury, now direct, heads back into intuitive but subjective Pisces. Mercury is symbolic of our breathing as well as our speaking and thinking, it underlines our respiratory vulnerability at this time of year. Mercury in Pisces really encourages our imagination, but we have to be careful where we take it, and be careful not to obsess on our worries, but to acknowledge our worries, notice that were floating in a global soup anxious energy around health and may be absorbing some of this. Deal with what can be dealt with, and then see if we can obsess on the returning bird song and the fresh winds of spring.
Friday starts off with some emotional storm clouds, we may feel a bit grim and determined, rolling with the punches after a long week and under a broody Scorpio Moon. The Moon heads into Sagittarius for the weekend and encourages us to try something new. Sagittarius Moon can give us travel lust, which is hard on those in some form of health quarantine, but we can wander in the mind or wander safely on Internet. It will feel really good distract the worry-brain and learn something new. Mercury has retrograded back into theoretical Aquarius which encourages engaged group discussion, so expect social media pundits to pontificate.
We have some intensive cleanup work to do early next week as the Moon enters industrious Capricorn and then conjuncts Mars, Jupiter, Pluto, and Saturn all in highly strategic Capricorn. Mercury reenters Pisces early in the week and asked us to review some of questionable decisions made over the last month and see what we can salvage or straighten out. We can also mend accidentally hurt feelings, even if we can’t change the primary results.
This lineup in Capricorn can feel brilliantly competent and organized on a good day, but it can also say easily slide a manipulative power trip, and make it hard to tell them apart at the beginning. If we can step beyond the tug-of-war of opinion, we can turn this Capricorn lineup into an engine that really builds momentum this week.
On Thursday the Moon enters more relaxed Aquarius and brings our focus to community relationships and what’s good for the people. Spring begins as the Sun enters Aries at 9:49 PM MDT. The winds begin to fill our sails, let’s think carefully where we want to direct this boat.
Friday, March 13: It may truly feel like Friday the 13th with the Moon in broody, sometimes resentful or pessimistic Scorpio setting the tone for the day. Reel in unnecessarily sarcastic or pointed comments, or expect an escalated response. Focused work can feel deeply satisfying, but it’s important to keep our imagination under control and headed in a good direction as Mars sextiles Neptune. Look under the rocks at a worst-case scenario, but don’t get stuck there. Evening is subdued and musky, active conversation buzzes over deeper moods beneath.

Saturday, March 14: Our sense of humor creeps back in as the Moon enters restless Sagittarius. Optimism can help us see a path where there wasn’t one yesterday as the Sun sextiles Pluto and Mars sextiles Neptune. If we can find something funny even in awkward or scary circumstance, we can mobilize our resources more easily. Explore new territory, quite literally, or explore a new concept. Clear the dross, let go of old resentments, be in the present moment, and look for the beginnings of a new path.
Moon square Mercury 3:35 AM, Moon sextile Saturn 4:05 AM, Mars sextile Neptune 4:31 AM, Moon enters Sagittarius 5:09 AM, Sun sextiles Pluto 10:46 AM, Moon trine Chiron 1:17 PM.
Sunday, March 15: The pacing today will drift and waft as the Sagittarius Moon squares Neptune; our spirits may be good, but our brains want to play hooky. Early afternoon brings a wave of sleepiness or escapism, or new evidence of our vulnerability and the interconnectedness of our collective health ecosystem. Our brains sharpen in the evening.
Moon square Neptune 1:51 PM.
Monday, March 16: Go back and do some work on decisions made hastily over the last month as Mercury reenters sensitive Pisces and the Moon enters strategic Capricorn. Avoid manipulative behavior and take a concrete logistical step in a good direction. Mercury in Pisces can bring out both our anxieties and our creative visions, so let’s steer our imagination carefully away from the broken waterfall and towards the limitless lakes. Look for some last-minute plan changes this evening, but notice people are willing to adjust, more flexible than usual.
Mercury enters Pisces 1:42 AM, Moon square the Sun 3:34 AM, Moon enters Capricorn 10:25 AM, Moon sextile Mercury 10:48 AM, Moon trine Uranus 6:32 PM.
Tuesday, March 17: The Capricorn Moon can leave our spirits a bit grim on St. Patrick’s Day, we can get serious and argue over trivial things unless we have something worthy to sink our teeth into. Tap into a positive earthiness, good food and logistical support as that Moon trines Mercury and Venus in earth signs. Just watch that tendency to fight as competitive Mars approaches a conjunction to Jupiter. Let’s brawl with our problems and not with each other.
Moon trine Venus 11:30 AM, Moon sextile Neptune 9:36 PM.
Wednesday, March 18: This may be a long and potentially eventful day as the strategic Capricorn Moon conjuncts Mars, Jupiter, Pluto, Saturn, during the day, and then enters Aquarius tonight. The actions we take today can help us direct the spring energy burst, and may have long-term consequences. Let’s get our horses into the right stall for the race. Be straightforward and direct rather than manipulative, and reward straightforwardness in others.

Thursday, March 19: On this last day of the astrological year, as the day and night balance, look back at the past, clear any personal clutter, get right with the world. Take care of the health, check in on the team, and speak with spirit. Launch the new astrological year tonight as the Sun enters Aries at 9:49 PM.
