Make the most of this weekend, let summer pour in rather than try to get a lot accomplished. The weekend begins with a sociable Leo Moon which trines Jupiter and encourages us to build resilience by enjoying our life and enjoy one another’s company. Fill up the wells, as we’re going to need it.
On Saturday the Moon enters industrious, if sometimes anxious Virgo but forms some lovely aspects; we still have that sociable vibe though the conversation deepens. Our introverted side might feel overwhelmed and need down time, wandering off by ourselves or with smaller groups.
Over the weekend we may need to debate about our responsibilities, both political and personal, as that Virgo Moon trines this year’s problem planets, the year-long Saturn- Pluto conjunction that asks us to look at the fundamental structures of our life and country, and shifts the very ground that we stand upon. We see clearly where the fault lines between different world concepts create clashing tectonic plates in our culture.
Late on Sunday the conversation begins to spin in circles as Mercury turns retrograde at 5:14 PM MDT through July 31. Drive carefully and speak judiciously Sunday and Monday. Batten all Mercurial hatches: confirm facts, confirm appointments, keep track of the keys, check for technical glitches, and pad the schedule with a little extra time. Carry a good book for delays. Deepen spiritual practice and look for serendipity in unexpected agenda. Mercury retrograde can be a lovely time to go back to familiar places, people, and picnic foods. It can also stir up old challenging memories of family dynamics and all-too-familiar political tensions, but we can take a different tack this time.
Now Mercury retrograde can be a lovely time in the summer to go back to familiar places, people, and picnic foods. Slow down and rock in the hammock. Meander by a stream. It can also stir up old challenging memories of family dynamics and all-too-familiar political tensions, particularly as this Mercury retrograde see-saws back and forth into a conjunction with feisty Mars. Once an argument or debate kicks in it can accelerate quickly, so choose battles carefully, and consider choosing fewer ones.
For the rest of the week the stars call us back to work. Work on old projects, and on the assignment on the table right now. A friendly Libra Moon on Monday and Tuesday can help us collaborate to handle some surprising challenges. Those challenges may intensify, but so can our determination, on Wednesday and Thursday as the Moon enters focused Scorpio while the Sun trines Neptune, and Mars squares Uranus, and Mercury conjuncts Mars.
If it’s time to set a boundary, do so firmly but without fireworks. Our temper can grow edgy, our tendency to square off with one another. If we find ourselves squaring off or feeling volcanic, it furthers to step away from the situation rather than pour oil on that fire. Think it through, look at potential consequences, consider the golden rule, and return to the fray. Use this intense determination judiciously.
Friday, July 5: Make hay while the Sun shines. While people may not be curious about one another (unless they consciously make an effort, which is an excellent idea) they may be happy to share a positive experience as the Leo Moon trine’s Jupiter. And this positive experience can help weave those connections we need to feel fed and resilience, and have allies, in the tough times. Strengthen connections prioritize connections rather than accomplishments.
Moon trine Jupiter 12:24 AM, Venus semi-sextile Mars 4:31 PM. Moon enters Virgo 10:25 PM.
Saturday, July 6: While the mood is still generally warm, prickly edges begin show if we’ve been overexposed people. Our introverted side needs some rest, so take a moment alone or in some low-key interaction where people can read or weed the garden together rather than do anything resembling high-stakes interactions. If a good conversation happens tangentially, don’t try to make it go anywhere, but use it to listen deeply and grow an understanding of one another. Be responsive, but not reactive. People will love to give advice, ask them forward and make them happy.
Moon sextile Venus 4:01 AM, Moon trine Uranus 8:23 AM, Moon sextile Sun 10:48 PM.
Sunday, July 7: Feel that impulse to be efficient, tend the details and get things done as the Virgo Moon trines Saturn and Pluto. But efficiency may be an ephemeral thing as Mercury appears to hold still. Track carefully anything that needs to be done, and prioritize safety and kindness over quick efficiency. Take notes about what needs follow-up, because our minds can feel like a sieve, losing the crumbs of details, even as we think them.
Moon square Jupiter 1:20 AM, Moon trine Saturn 3:04 AM, Moon opposed Neptune 5:10 AM, Moon square Pluto 10:50 AM, Mercury retrogrades 5:14 PM.
Monday, July 8: Let the morning move slowly, let everyone regain some equilibrium before they launch into the week. A slow start will in the long run be most efficient, if we jump in the deep end it will take a lot of conscious effort to get organized for the week. Social justice in politics, and fairness in the family and office become a priority as the Libra Moon squares Venus. This afternoon, as Mercury conjuncts Mars exactly, tempers flicker quickly, especially when we feel underappreciated or ignored. Speak clearly, but check ego issues before spouting off.
Moon enters Libra 12:06 AM, Venus square Chiron 5:42 AM, Moon sextiles Mars 7:09 AM, Moon sextile Mercury 7:36 AM, Venus sextile Uranus 9:31 AM, Moon square Venus 10:32 AM, Mercury conjunct Mars 4:27 PM.
Tuesday, July 9: No one wants to deal with direct confrontation, but we may need to draw lines between opinions as the Sun opposes Saturn and the Moon squares Pluto. We could feel uncomfortable or stuck, but have an opportunity to express and strengthen our personal authority with some potentially small but important step.
Moon sextile Jupiter 3:29 AM, Moon square Sun 4:54 AM, Moon square Saturn 5:21 AM, son opposed Saturn 11:07 AM, Moon square Pluto 1:35 PM.
Wednesday, July 10: Our fuses shorten, our focus sharpens as the Moon enters Scorpio and squares Mercury and Mars in Leo. We have no patience with other people’s ego issues, but may wrestle with our own. There’s an increased likelihood of accidents for the next two days, accidents and accidental comments that are difficult, accidental movements where our attention is somewhere other than what we’re doing. So, pay attention and make life a meditation of intention. We have access to some magic as well, it was the Sun trine’s Neptune with that intention and focus we can truly make progress, if people need time alone, let them have or pay the consequence.
Moon enters Scorpio 3:28 AM, Moon square Mercury 10:47 AM, Moon square Mars 1:19 PM, Moon opposed Uranus 20 p.m., Moon trine Venus 7:28 PM, Sun trine Neptune 10:30 PM.
Thursday, July 11: Keep using the imagination to vision how things could be better. Our intuition and imagination are strong as the Moon forms a grand trine with the Sun and Neptune today, but our imagination can wander into the dark corners instead of the sunlight possibility realm of possibilities unless we aim it carefully. And, while we’re wandering in our minds, we can become more accident-prone. So, pay attention, direct the imagination into problem-solving and exploring possibilities. People perceive our cranky or kind thoughts, so let’s take responsibility for the energy we put out. Send warmth into the surroundings and help people get past a cold and suspicious edge. Some information may come be a revealed that sets off a larger controversy
