Emotions can flood in like a hurricane at high tide as a full Moon in sensitive Pisces, conjuncts Neptune this Friday morning. Whether it’s the Pisces Moon, hormones, lowering barometric pressure, or paraskevidekatriaphobia-fear of Friday the 13th, we can feel emotionally tossed by the winds and waves. Every cross word and any uncomfortable headline can feel like a burr under our saddle, and any kind word a balm. We also feel for those who have actually been storm-tossed. It will pay to do whatever mindfulness training or gardening trick helps us feel centered and grounded, able to make steadier decisions.
The swirling winds of this full moon can also help us let go of old angers, though leave us easily triggered into a fresh snit – whether we are right or wrong -as Mars opposes Neptune under this sensitive Pisces Moon. It’s easy to feel weepy or go off about something that’s not really true. One may also be unusually permeable under this Pisces Moon and pick up feelings from the people nearby, and from all over the world. The emotions are real but maybe we don’t have our facts straight, or are reading existential angst into our personal woes. So, acknowledge the feelings let them flow, but don’t get too attached to their story.
But it won’t all be an emotional projection. As the weekend progresses, we can be triggered by real events and moved to action. The Sun and Mars both form a helpful trine to the tough Saturn/south node/Pluto conjunction in Capricorn, which is this year’s chief astrological feature. Peoples’ actions will give us clear clues to their true nature. Expect a lively debate about how power and authority is used whether here in America, around the world, or at the dinner table.
After the emotional floods of Friday, the winds shift on Saturday, and the mood becomes both more friendly and more rebellious. Mental Mercury and affection Venus both leave thoughtful, irritable Virgo and enter friendlier Libra, while the Moon, which sets the emotional tone of the day, leaves sensitive Pisces and enters rebellious Aries. In the weeks ahead it will be easier for kids to make new friends at school. We’ll have more energy to deal with what recently felt overwhelming. Issues of social justice can light our fire, and so can questions about fairness and aesthetics on the home front. But we may be able to be more tactful as we talk about it now. Some of us will just need a friendly day with a spontaneous outing.
During the week we may be asked to deal with pragmatic decisions about foundations, moving furniture around the house or moving people within an organization. Engage healthy boundaries and reorganize. Saturn turns direct after a long retrograde while the Moon in steady and pragmatic Taurus forms a grand trine with Mars, Sun, and Saturn on the other corner. Some project that percolated last year but got put on hold last May when Saturn turn retrograde, will now begin to manifest. Because Saturn also has to do with structural things like walls, bones, and teeth, as well as systems and authority, we may hear some news around the Us/Mexico wall or other border issues, and around chains of command everywhere. It’s time to get to work.
Friday, September 13: Conditions switch quickly today, keep an eye on both the weather and on the moods of the people around. Be kind to an emotional maudlin streak this morning, engage a moment of poetry and compassion as Mercury trines Venus and the Sun trines Pluto. We can think with our heart and feel with our head, and know that something needs to be dealt with but may have trouble acting on it now. Art, magic, swampy feelings; notice the swirling emotional waters, but don’t get sucked under by it, let it flow by like water under the bridge. Hidden truths arise and can feel overwhelming. Keep it simple, comforting, and spacious as the Moon peaks full at 10:32 PM MDT.

Saturday, September 14: The world may feel very different, softer, braver and more mischievous this morning as the Moon enters brash Aries, while Mercury and Venus enter friendly, sociable, social-justice oriented Libra, and they oppose one another. We may worry less and want to take more action, and can now look ahead at our social calendar or feel more open to make new connections. Just don’t tell us what to do or exhibit blatant unfairness. Surprising laughter and rebellion tonight.
Mercury enters Libra 1:14 AM, Venus enters Libra 7:42 AM, Moon enters Aries 4:32 PM, Moon opposes Venus 5:33 PM, Moon opposes Mercury 7:08 PM.
Sunday, September 15: Reconnect with old friends and familiar community today. Notice both the desire for time with people we can trust, and a desire to speak our mind. Networking furthers, other work will tend to go in circles. Distracted easily, odd bits of equipment seem to wander, and last-minute responsibilities knock on our door. It can be a challenge to complete projects as the Moon square Saturn.
Moon square Saturn 8:29 PM
Monday, September 16: We may be raring to go if we love our work, and find passive-aggressive ways of acting out if we don’t on this willful Monday morning. While we can be generally kind and creative with one another, the political debate thickens and people will be called out for outrageous unfairness. If an old misunderstanding or miscommunication issue comes up, gently unravel it rather than push as Mercury opposes Chiron.
Moon trine Neptune 1:28 AM, Moon square Pluto 10:02 AM, Mercury opposed Chiron 10:54 AM.
Tuesday, September 17: There is great potential for new friendships and collaborations, so make overtures. Potential work decisions are on the edge, not quite right, but stay involved and visible to be included once the new work builds momentum. We can hurt people’s feelings easily this afternoon if we tease them around an old sore point. We will remember who was helpful today, and who gets in our way.
Moon enters Taurus 4:30 AM, Venus opposes Chiron to 2:01 PM, Moon opposes Uranus 4:30 PM.
Wednesday, September 18: The ground shifts as things that have been blocked begin to become unblocked; Saturn turns direct. Some of the plans that begin to come to light are good, others not. Look for changes in the system, reorganizing and shuffling of people and priorities. The Taurus Moon forms a grand trine today with Mars and the Sun on one corner Pluto and Saturn on the other corner. If we’re stuck in a traffic jam it will really grate on our nerves. If were in a position where we can make progress, it may be smooth sailing.
Saturn turns direct 2:46 AM Moon trine Saturn 7:51 AM, Moon sextile Neptune 2:01 PM, Moon trine Mars 8:19 PM Moon trine Pluto 9:01 PM.
Thursday, September 19: New decisions are made and new projects launch as Mars trines Pluto. What starts now will tend to build momentum, whether that’s a storm, a campaign, a venture, or a new friendship. People look for something intriguing that is new and unfamiliar as Venus quincunx Uranus. This afternoon, let’s work our contacts and check in with our teams, engage the conversation but not buy into an ambient nervousness as the Moon enters verbal Gemini.
Venus quincunx Uranus 4:26 AM, Moon trine Sun 7:56 AM, Mars trine Pluto 9:53 AM, Moon enters Gemini 2:57 PM.
All times are MDT.
