Autumn begins officially on Monday as the Sun enters Libra 1:50 AM. For this last weekend of summer, as the Sun leaves Virgo and enters sociable Libra, let’s appreciate the harvest of our work and the bounty of our relationships. The fall equinox creates an opportunity for an opening, so consider where to use this gift. It’s a great weekend to dream and introspect.
Dreams could pour in this weekend, along with floodwaters and questions about who is speaking the truth; we get the last pass of a tricky nine-month transit as expansive Jupiter squares foggy Neptune on Saturday for the third time since January 2019 (exact January 19, June 16, and this Saturday). This confusing Jupiter-Neptune square coincided with a year of Neptune problems: floods, soaking storms, soggy fields, threats of contamination, and a cloud of misinformation around what is and is not “fake news”. Some people have had struggles with sugar and alcohol, their spiritual life, or with some personal or political illusions (whether they know it or not), all Neptunian issues. These issues get potentially easier to tackle directly in the weeks ahead. Though we may have some rough wake-up calls in the process.
But before it clears up, we may see Neptunian tension on the big screen, some disagreement based on flooding, subterfuge, oil or gas. We may personally need to clear up some misperception of our own or misunderstanding with a friend or family member. If we feel any depression or frustration with one another, let’s assume the clouds make it hard to see one another, and search for a deeper mutual understanding. This aspect also has gifts to offer, it encourages us to see the heartbreaking beauty of the last days of summer and brings a hunger for sweetness, for comfort and magical connection.
First, this Friday we can begin important conversations while a communicative Gemini Moon trines friendly Venus and mental Mercury, both now in Libra. Saturday brings a gruffer edge as Mars squares the Moon and the sun. On Sunday, it will feel good to come back to ourselves, our home and people we trust. Prioritize self-care and home care under a Cancer Moon. We may have something serious to consider, but let’s not get stuck in a worry spiral as Mercury squares Saturn on Sunday and Monday. This mental concentration can loan us competence and help us work things through, but we can perseverate on a problem. Give the mind something productive to do to keep it out of trouble.
Early Monday morning Autumn begins the Sun enters Libra. The equinox can open doors of perception like the opening of the lock on the river. It doesn’t force us through but encourages a flow. Midweek a Leo Moon can bring out our extroverted and affectionate side on a good moment, and can nudge people to a place of self-involved hyperbole in a more challenging minute. Mercury moves into a square with Pluto towards the end of the week, and we can over-state our case with an urgent need to get our point across. Deep thinking is a gift from this aspect, just reign in any depression spiral, stay in the present moment, and solve what can be solved.
Friday, September 20: The dialogue is more important than the outcome, just make sure everyone feels heard as the Gemini Moon trines Venus and Mercury. We can find different paths, propose a different approach, multi-task and juggle. Conversation can be warm and creative but still impatient; leave no one hanging for return phone call or email. Touch base and they’ll be fine, ignore a delay and they’ll be miffed. Tonight, the Moon moves into a T-square with Jupiter and Neptune, we get a lot less realistic, escapist even, and can tell tall tales. Be careful around water damage and flood conditions.

Saturday, September 21: Let people sleep in this morning, dreams are important, and people may otherwise have a cranky response to an early Moon square Mars. On this last weekend of summer, and as Jupiter squares Neptune exactly, let’s inventory what we bring to harvest and what our spirit hungers for. The evening starts out sociable if a little off kilter, but we may need the safe comfort of our home as the Moon enters domestic Cancer tonight.
Moon square Mars 8:04 AM, Jupiter square Neptune 10:43 AM, Moon square Sun 8:40 PM, Moon enters Cancer 10:49 PM.
Sunday, September 22: This last day of summer is good for serious thinking, but watch the tendency to get depressed and worry unproductively as Mercury squares lugubrious Saturn. News may sound grim. Build, reorganize, chew on something that requires mental traction. Honor work that has been already achieved. Be kind to one another, otherwise we can easily slip into a touchy defensiveness.

Monday, September 23: Autumn begins this morning at 1:50 AM MDT. Where there is gentle reassurance of safety, doorways open today. Watch a moody melancholia midday as the Moon opposes Pluto. Make gentle overtures after lunch as the Moon sextiles Mars. Offer reassurance wherever needed and authentic. Help magic happen.
Moon square Mercury 1:22 AM, Sun enters Libra 1:50 AM, Moon trine Neptune 4:55 AM, Moon opposed Pluto 11:20 AM, Moon sextile Mars 4:05 PM.
Tuesday, September 24: The Moon enters Leo and encourages us to reach out and connect, but those who are normally a bit narcissistic may become obnoxiously more so. Although everyone could use a bit of extra attention today, notice what relationships are two-way street of mutual encouragement and curiosity, and what ones are all about them. Just smile and back off. Mercury sextiles Jupiter helps us write, talk, make a point, and encourages us to find humor in a dour situation tonight.
Moon enters Leo 3:19 AM, Moon sextile Sun 5:12 AM, Mercury quincunx Neptune 7:56 AM, Moon square Uranus 1:12 PM, Mercury sextile Jupiter 3 PM.
Wednesday, September 25: While we can appear tactful, some underlying stress can activate a tendency to test love or friendships, or sulk, instead of nurture them, which is what we really need as Venus squares Saturn. Don’t be phased by a temporary set-back or delay in recent progress. Work and practical considerations can get in the way of our creative endeavors and our social time. On the other hand, it can be deeply satisfying to engage the work that we love.
Moon sextile Venus 1:35 AM, Moon trine Jupiter 8:21 AM, Moon sextile Mercury 10:13 AM, Venus squares Saturn 1:19 PM.
Thursday, September 26: Critique sharpens as Mercury squares Pluto and the Moon enters Virgo. We can see what the problem is, though we might not want to confront it, whether on the national stage or in the personal life. Some will lash out inappropriately as a way of dealing with some personal discomfort. If someone starts up, back off, give them room, and come back to the conversation later, rather than take it on personally. Difficult news may arise or we may get a fresh understanding on an old situation: take it seriously. This aspect is good for research, use the mind’s tendency to obsess productively.
