Priorities, priorities, priorities; keep checking priorities. Stay on target with what’s important and let all the rest fall by the wayside for the moment. We’re asked to dig deep, take care of business, and not waste our time as Mercury in Scorpio, retrograde, sextiles Pluto, while the Sun conjuncts/combusts Mercury this week. Mercury in Scorpio usually brings intense focus, but because it’s retrograde, and because of a few other challenging aspects this week, we can obsess on discomfort, or focus on some random dust moat, and forget where we’re going.
Unfinished business returns to be dealt with, which can be a relief or royal pain, depending on the business, but either way—let’s make progress. Missing things return, and important things can go missing. Our dreams may be laced with old memories or concerns, times when we were embarrassed or frustrated. If so, note the mood, let those feelings feel heard, but realize that they are not predictive; this is not about the present or the future but just about clearing out the cluttered corners of the past.
Let our first priorities be safety, love relationships, and feeling understood in the world. With Mercury retrograde we can’t necessarily take any of that for granted. Keep eyes open if a series of small mishaps begins to pile up; to flail around further will only be increase their likelihood, so calm down, slow down, get centered and refocused. Then continue.
Stay on target as the weekend begins under a volatile Sun in Scorpio, Moon in Aries, two signs both ruled by Mars. Our tails twitch and irritation levels rise easily, and we won’t brook interruptions lightly, but we can use this impatience with occasional flashes of brilliance to get work done that should’ve been done a long time ago.
On Sunday, the Moon enters earthy Taurus, waxes full in Taurus on Tuesday with a competitive Mars-Jupiter sextile, making this one of the most stubborn, inflexible times of the year. Don’t even try to push people against their wishes. Instead, use that insatiable Scorpio curiosity to hook people and help them explore a different perspective. Both Scorpio and Taurus speak of our desires, how we feed our senses or deny them, which can bring a desire to be comfortable and cuddly and collect things, or a desire to possess in the worst of ways. It’s not a time to trifle with issues of jealousy or territory. Every full Moon highlights an opposition, this one asks us do we want to be right, or do we want to be happy. In relationship and politics, are we willing to transform even if it appears to rock an illusion of security? Are we willing to investigate a real and sustainable path to security?
Although Mercury retrograde in Scorpio is great for research, it’s not generally good for publicity, but we get a window of opportunity on Wednesday to focus on communication, update websites, and travel relatively easily, things that aren’t usually Mercury retrograde material, as the Moon enters Mercury-rule Gemini while Mercury sextiles stabilizing Saturn and trines intuitive Neptune. Make that pitch or have a difficult conversation now, just don’t multi-task to the point where things fall through the cracks.
Friday, November 8: Our mood could be easily irritated, even combustible, but we can hold steady as long as we’re making progress and no one tells us what to do. The faster we move, the more we may get distracted or feel stymied in our progress; we need to consciously add a steady rhythm. An imaginative sparkle enters tonight as the Moon trines Venus, it furthers to get out and break routine. Watch a strangely competitive vibe, but affection can help overcome prickly edges.
Moon enters Aries at 4:48 AM, Sun sextile Saturn 10:06 AM, Sun trine Neptune 10:56 AM, Saturn sextile Neptune 7:45 PM, Moon trine Venus 11:15 PM
Saturday, November 9: We may be easily frustrated, but can also easily let it go as the Aries Moon forms challenging aspects to Mars and Saturn, but trines Venus in Sagittarius. Run-ins with bureaucracy or other people’s systems can irritate, though a minute outside can do us a world of good. Be honest but not brutally honest. Take the hint from delays and snags, don’t forge ahead blindly, but instead move forward with attention, mindfulness, and grace. If tempers flare, step outside and throw a rock at another rock to relieve the pressure, and step back inside to try again. Quick and harmless releases of sparks can help us stay in a more focused pattern. Early evening brings good sparks, though the mood thickens as the evening progresses and the Moon squares Pluto.
Moon square Saturn 12:55 PM, Mercury sextile Pluto 7:09 PM, Moon squares Pluto 10:37 PM.
Sunday, November 10: Irritations and restlessness early this morning can give us strange dreams or leave us cranky. One moment of spontaneous freedom can shift the mood as the Moon opposes Mars and trines Jupiter, so give people lots of leeway for their eccentricities. The mood stabilizes, slows down, becomes more stubborn but also gives us a chance to get back into our body and take care our of earthly matters as the Moon waxes into Taurus late this afternoon.
Moon opposed Mars 4:58 AM, Moon trine Jupiter 7 AM, Moon enters Taurus 4:17 PM.
Monday, November 11: Poltergeist can interfere with our electrics today as the Moon conjunct Uranus. Notice, but be wary of, a sudden desire to make a major change as the sun conjuncts/combusts retrograde Mercury, our willpower and flare can subsume our rational thinking, and make our judgement questionable. Tonight, old worries show up rehashed, old paperwork may need finishing, or we may just feel old as the Moon trines Saturn. Familiar comforts further.
Moon conjunct Uranus 12:09 AM, Sun conjunct Mercury 8:21 AM, Moon sextile Neptune 11:11 PM, Moon trine Saturn 11:43 PM.
Tuesday, November 12: Lines are drawn. Fights that start today will tend to entrench; the Moon is full in Taurus at 6:34 AM MST. This fixed sign full Moon can either leave us centered in the middle of the maelstrom, or leave us feeling like a bump on a log, or feel pulled and tugged by the winds of our desires and needs and frustration. Like a hurricane, the winds are calmer in the eye.
Moon opposed Mercury 2:51 AM, Moon opposed son 6:34 AM, Moon trine Pluto 8:47 AM, Mars sextile Jupiter 11:21 AM.
Wednesday, November 13: Use a window of opportunity to talk, get the word out, publicize, have meetings as the Moon enters Mercury-rule Gemini while Mercury sextiles stabilizing Saturn and trines intuitive Neptune. Communication is everything, though people’s attention span varies. We can active our imagination easily, but It takes extra attention to track and complete our work. Intuition is strong, Spirit is easily reached.
Moon enters Gemini 1:45 AM, Mercury sextile Saturn 7:34 AM, Sun sextiles Pluto 11 AM, Mercury trines Neptune 3:34 PM.
Thursday, November 14: Keep talking, and make conscious use of imagination as Venus squares Neptune. We can easily get lost in our imagination, or think what we want is happening- rather than see what’s actually going on. It’s not fake news, it’s creation, if we use it consciously and productively. But if we believe our own story, or the construct of some other willful entity, we can get a little lost.
Moon opposed Venus 7:15 AM, Moon square Neptune 7:32 AM, Venus square Neptune 10:06 AM.
All times are MST.
