We enter the heart of Leo season as Venus joins the Sun in Leo on Saturday. It’s time to be sybaritic, peel our grapes and float in the water, and have long leisurely post-sunset dinners on the porch. Engage the gracious generosity of Leo to be hospitable. Enjoy the Leo panache as it adds an extra glow to performance arts and all the fruits of culture.
Soak it up, because the rest of life may take some patience This is the last week of Mercury retrograde, and the Mercury retrograde follies tend to thicken right before it turns direct. Mercury stations, or appears to hold still in the sky as it prepares to turn direct next Wednesday. Along with this slowdown, activating Mars forms challenging quincunx to both Saturn and Neptune and adds to this frustration. Misunderstandings, miscalculations, drifting attention, and technical and mechanical snafus; the dings and boomerangs of outrageous fortune can begin to pile up and wear us down.
Add to this the propensity to take things personally, and with a melodramatic flare, and it could be a fun week. With the Sun and Venus both in Leo this week we’ll tend to think and speak and hyperbole. It’s not just bad, it’s the worst, it’s not just good, it’s fabulous. This Leo line up can bring over-the-top melodramatic, and sometimes fabricated, comments to our newsfeed, we can enjoy while taking it all with a grain of salt. But just because someone acts out or speaks with real flair doesn’t mean there are aren’t real feelings underneath. Pay attention to real feelings and look for the truth underneath, reward the need for connection without rewarding bad behavior.
Friday’s Taurus Moon can help us stay steady and just deal with what’s on our plate. Small chores can both be a calming meditation and keep us on track. Take care of the home front. A Gemini Moon over the weekend helps the flow of communication and Venus in Leo encourages us to reach out and have a good time. We have an opportunity for healing one another on Sunday, just by caring and being present, as the Sun trines Chiron.
A sensitive, defensive Moon in Cancer on Monday stirs questions around home and homeland, who belongs and who doesn’t. Some people may act out erratically or feel anxious as the Sun squares electrical Uranus. If we feel any inner turmoil, it furthers to slow down and move gently to avoid accidents. Expect a little drama the under the new Moon in Leo and as Mercury stations to turn direct on Wednesday. Stay cool, calm and show affection. Keep a good sense of humor nearby, enjoy the slapstick, and say nothing regrettable. On the first day of August we begin to straighten out the misunderstandings and fix what needs to be fixed, then began to plan ahead.
Friday, July 26: We need comfort and may just need to catch up with ourselves. People long for acceptance, whatever the conditions. It’s so hard not to take the piling up of small glitches personally, or to feel someone is not reaching out to us because they don’t like us rather than because their own glitches are piling up as Mars quincunx Saturn. Stay present and care for one another. Patience is a spiritual practice. Good food and gentle persistence furthers.

Saturday, July 27: Talk it up. It furthers to reconnect with family of the heart, check in and see how everyone’s doing while Venus finishes its run in Cancer. Just let people know you care rather than try to have a heavy discussion. The Moon enters Leo tonight and our attention shifts away from the family towards community; we may have approach-avoidance conflicts around attention, we’ll want to be seen more than we want we want to see others.
Moon sextile Venus 12:27 AM, Moon enters Gemini 2:28 AM, Moon sextile Sun 10:16 AM, Venus enters Leo 9:53 PM.
Sunday, July 28: Confusing mixed signals and small snafus can wear on us. It can help to see the slapstick and find the humor wherever possible. Keep the schedule loose, easy, curious and spontaneous. Look for an opportunity to heal one another with presence, with just being there and available, as the Sun trines Chiron tonight.

Monday, July 29: People are a bit touchy this morning, the mood is both shy and restless, domestic and discontent as the Sun squares changeable Uranus under an inward-looking Cancer Moon. Anxious undertone looks for a place to land. Watch for mishaps around recalcitrant liquids, water, coffee, alcohol. Expect some confusion around people’s motives as Mars quincunx Neptune; it furthers to question our own motives and look for fresh inspiration.
Moon enters cancer at 7:30 AM, Moon sextile Uranus 30 6 PM, Sun square Uranus 7:14 PM.
Tuesday, July 30: Minor snafus and easily hurt feelings abound. Hold hands and smile when things go wrong, give each other support rather than let them pile up between beloveds as Mars quincunx Neptune. Strange moods swirl tonight, stay in the present and don’t generalize about the future as the Moon opposes Pluto. Let feelings of nostalgia, that gentle ache of the heart or some element of the past, arise and flow away.

Wednesday, July 31: Events tip towards extremes. An expressive Leo Moon new Moon can make it both easier to support one another, and easier to snap some grandiose retorts. Our hearts may be generously full but could also have trouble empathizing, walking a mile in another’s shoes. Mercury is stationery and actions tend to spin in circles; it furthers to sit quietly in the sunshine. Tonight, we can feel urgency for attention, to feel understood and seen, but the harder we push the less like that is to happen. Better to stay calm, open our hearts, and share our love in a centered way as the Moon enters Leo and conjuncts the Sun at 11 PM, Mercury turns direct at 11:57 PM.
Moon enters Leo 9:18 AM, Moon conjunct Venus for 50 p.m., Moon square Uranus 7:54 PM, Moon conjunct Sun 11:11 PM, Mercury stationary direct 11:57 PM.
Thursday, August 1: Take a deep breath. Straighten out misunderstandings, repair problems, and get the wheels back on track as the Moon trines Jupiter this morning and forms a dynamic conjunction with Mars this afternoon. Keep the pace smooth and easy; it won’t be pretty if we rev our engines before we align with our path. Prepare overtures to launch over the next week. Prepare important communications and get overtures ready to launch over the next week.
