The grass is growing and blossom burgeoning. After an easily-overwhelmed winter, the stars are really helping us get on a roll; we have places to go and things to do with the Sun in earthy, enduring Taurus with Mercury and Venus in feisty Aries.
Mercury and Venus in Aries loan us gumption and helps us initiate, but we’ll concentrate better in short and intense doses with frequent breaks. Otherwise the spring attention deficit problem kicks in. We’ll tend to be impatient and outspoken; even on a lovely spring day, opinions can just sprout out of us like bees out of a flower. Our thinking can be firm, direct, but unsubtle. What passes as the truth can be oversimplified and so distort the more subtle, interwoven nature of real truth. While it’s a relief to get down to core issues, let’s watch the temper spikes and stay open to complexities if we want to know what’s really going on.
But even with this pragmatic forward momentum we can lose track of exactly where were going. Over the weekend an interesting, imaginative but competitive T-square between Mars in Gemini, Jupiter in Sagittarius, and Neptune in Pisces can inflame allergies but help us release old angers and let go of old outmoded ambitions so we can create room for new ideas. This pattern can bring a confusing if competitive edge on one side, but also can stimulate an important dialogue, good for spiritual and philosophical questioning. Old quotes from the past can stir up arguments even though we won’t agree on what was actually said. We can avoid the worst of these fights as long as we can keep the conversation going and try to understand the other. Keep that dialogue flowing, it will really tick us off if we feel we can’t express or we feel like nobody’s really listening.
Friday and Saturday a creative Aquarius Moon calls us out to celebrate spring, engage community events and camaraderie. Honor a need to wander and a desire to feel the earth’s magic as Mars squares Neptune. Under the Pisces Moon on Sunday and Monday, we may need to slow down, feel sensitized, but can also be frustrated with the systems in place and wrestle with questions about how to organize as Saturn stations to turn retrograde for the summer.
If a major project is delayed, instead of getting discouraged, use the time to make the project more robust. Saturn and lets us go back and review our plans, get them in better shape before the fall momentum. Political contestants may have to field a lot of questions about what’s happened in the past and have trouble really turning the conversation to the future until the end of August.
The week ends with bonfires and sparks. On May Day, we may be ready for the fresh life of May baskets, the joy of Maypoles, and the exhilaration of spring revolution as the Moon enters feisty Aries and Mercury in Aries squares Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn. This pattern stimulates the controversy around the key issues of the year. We can expect the breakdown and rebuilding of old structures and systems this year as Saturn and Pluto conjunct. New life wants to push out old dysfunction. May baskets are always appreciated.
Friday, April 26: We may to be friendly under a sociable Aquarius moon, but can feel our chin set, heels dig in, and will resist change instigated by others. Let’s be proactive about that and choose a change we’re willing to work towards as something needs to shift while the Moon squares Uranus and the Sun. We can grapple with difficult facts and be distracted by the bigger picture, but easily miss the needs and feelings of those close by. Tonight, let the work go and focus on reconnection as the Moon sextiles Venus.
Moon enters Aquarius 3:27 AM, Moon squares Uranus 8:56 AM, Moon squares Sun 4:18 PM, Moon sextile Venus 6:58 PM.
Saturday, April 27: Spontaneous adventure furthers. If irritated by a comment, clarify to avoid arguments based on misunderstanding. Take care of allergies, immune systems, and don’t push a decision before it’s ripe as Mars squares Neptune. Be alert around water, fuel and alcohol. Notice an old anger ready to let go and create new space within. Though a new one may arise. It can be good therapy to sit around and get the complaints out on the table with humor.
Mars square Neptune 7:03 AM, Moon sextile Mercury 8:34 AM, Moon trine Mars 4:10 PM.
Sunday, April 28: Good conversation abounds this productive and potentially friendly morning, just be willing to make the overture. Our feelings grow more sensitive, anxieties can flicker in as the Moon enters Pisces this afternoon; put sensitivities to good use and rest the anxious mental hamsters.
Moon sextile Jupiter 3:43 AM, Moon enters Pisces 4:11 PM, Moon sextile Uranus 10:02 PM.
Monday, April 29: Check in with one another and tend to human resources this morning. Be patient with one another, this can be an emotional time, and something we want may be put on hold or reorganized as Saturn stations to turn retrograde. Expect news about this on Wednesday as Mercury squares that Saturn. Use any delays wisely, as a chance to go back and fix and strengthen.
Moon sextile Jupiter 3:43 AM, Saturn turns retrograde 6:54 PM
Tuesday, April 30: Morning starts off and in the heart of confusion as the Moon conjuncts Neptune, listen to dreams and intuitions even though we may be filtering through our critical edge as Neptune and squares Mars. Midday brings a productive streak as the Moon sextiles Saturn and Pluto. Work with others to remove old blocks to healthy progress. With determination and tact we can reach across those differing opinions and potentially move forward.
Moon enters Neptune 4:32 AM, Moon square Mars 8:22 AM, Moon sextile Saturn 9:33 AM, Moon sextile Pluto 2:47 PM, Moon square Jupiter 3:57 PM.
Wednesday, May 1: It’s a good day to file a lawsuit or dance the Maypole; Mayday begins with gumption and attitude as Mercury squares Saturn and the Moon enters feisty Aries. If people have a chip on their shoulder, don’t take it personally. Put this gumption someplace positive. Choose fights carefully, rather than react automatically. Paperwork and bureaucracy can intervene and slow the flow. Our attention span can be quick and dismiss what’s not really important, but hold on in with pitbull teeth to what does.
Mercury sextile Mars 12:37 AM, Mercury square Saturn 2:49 AM, Moon enters Aries 4:23 AM, Moon conjunct Chiron 12:26 PM.
Thursday, May 2: This day keeps up the pace, but softens in attitude as the Moon conjuncts Venus in Aries, though serious concerns arise. Watch for sudden news, transportation difficulties, and be ready to grapple with some inconvenient truth as Mercury squares Pluto. Be conscious of where the mind rumbles, watch out for a tendency to get into the depression cascade and bring up one difficult thought after the other. If this begins to happen, take a break and focus on something concrete and clear. Fresh possibilities arise tonight as Mercury trine’s Jupiter, we can see more potential.
Moon conjunct Venus 8:39 AM, Mercury square Pluto 3:51 PM, Moon square Saturn 8:16 PM, Moon trine Jupiter 9:58 PM.
All times are MDT.
